Two of my favorite things about engagement photography: having fun with the couple before the big day and exploring cool places in new cities!
Bennett and Aimee showed us around the Fort Worth Stockyards, which is a pretty neat place if you haven’t been there before.
I’m not much of a country girl, but after spending the day walking around the Stockyards, I wanted to buy some boots and go country western dancing!!
This is another favorite. So sweet!
I loved the detail on Aimee’s boots!!!

A few words from the couple…
How did you meet?
A: We first met at a family friends’ house. We were all there to watch the UT vs Alabama bowl game. We both joined a pool. At the end of the game (after Bennett was trying really hard to flirt), it came down to the two of us for 1 point. If Alabama made the extra point at the end of the game, I was going to lose. They missed and I won the money! The next night our families were both going to see a play in Houston. When we got there, the only two seats left were next to each other (of course!) At the end of the night…. he didn’t even tell me goodbye! He claims it was intentional…. so he could ask me out on our first date later.
When was your first date? Where did you go?
A: Our first date was on January 12, 2010. We went to Texas Road House (YUM!) and then went back to my apartment to watch The Hangover because I mentioned that I’d never seen it. I think it was absolutely the best first (and last first) date! It was actually kinda funny because he was still underage and me being 4 years older…. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to order a drink or not, or pay! I had to ask my younger sister!
What is one of your favorite memories together?
A: All the concerts that we have been to. We LOVE Texas Country. The first time I came to visit him in Dallas he took me to Billy Bob’s to see Colt Ford so now its one of our favorite places.
2nd fav memory- our trips to Jamaica and San Antonio!
How did he propose?
B: I was going to surprise her! I asked her to show me designs so I would know what it was that she wanted. Unfortunately, the surprise element wasn’t going to be all there. I came home late on a Tuesday night and told her to come home Wednesday and get ready to go immediately. I told her to get dressed nice because I had a fancy evening planned (knowing all along I had nothing planned). She immediately got all excited and told me “See, I told you that you couldn’t surprise me!” She took a half day off to prepare for our special evening the next night. The next morning on my way to work, I called her principal and spoke with the principal’s secretary. I told her that I wanted to surprise her and propose to her that day at school before she left at lunch time to prepare for our “special evening”. The principal’s secretary called her when she got to school and told her that the principal wanted to meet with her before she left. She immediately started becoming very nervous about what she had done. Terrified out of her mind when she got there, she walked into the principal’s office and I was sitting at the principal’s desk with flowers and got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of my life with me.
What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
A: Getting to marry my best friend with our own vows! (and wearing my dress!)
